Best Paper in 2017 Awarded to Dr. Arka Roy by Institute for Industrial Engineering Journal

Dr. Arkajyoti “Arka” Roy, an assistant professor in the Department of Applied Statistics and Operations Research, is publishing leading edge articles about cancer research which are receiving international attention. One of the articles he co-authored was chosen as the best paper in 2017 by IIE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering.  His article is entitled “Robust Optimization with Time-Dependent Uncertainty in Radiation Therapy” and was co-authored with Dr. Omid Nohadani from Northwestern University.  IIE is the Institute for Industrial Engineering.

Dr. Roy’s primary research area is in robust decision-making with a focus on robust optimization and robust analytics. Application areas for his research include cancer radiation therapy and healthcare delivery systems.
