Call for Proposals

2021 CALL FOR PROPOSALS IS NOW CLOSED.

The organizing committee for the 11th Anniversary SoTL Conference invites you to submit an original proposal for this year’s conference, themed around COVID 19 and Adaptive Pedagogies.

Hosted online this year through Bowling Green State University, this two-day conference will promote dialogue on teaching and learning under pandemic conditions and their longer-term legacies. It offers opportunities to reflect on continuity and change after the onset of COVID-19 for practices of teaching and learning, faculty development, closing the loop with K-12 education, and issues of technology and inclusion.

This year’s conference features five tracks for presentations. Proposals may select one or more that are relevant to their topics.

  • Teaching Practice
  • Student Learning
  • Culturally Relevant / Inclusive Pedagogy
  • Teaching with Technology
  • Faculty Development

We especially welcome proposals that either reflect on the experience of teaching and learning under COVID conditions in 2020-21, or discuss the pandemic’s legacy for Teaching and Learning in the near future.

Congruent with the pandemic-informed shift from live, in-person teaching to the more intentional construction of online repositories, we are pleased to welcome (and record via Zoom) a healthy number of live presentations, and we have an online space for the equivalent of poster sessions.

CONFERENCE SESSION FORMATS
  1. Paper Presentation — Individual proposals for 20-minute presentations.
  2. Panel Discussion — proposals for up to three 20-minute presentations grouped together, with a commentator.
