Applied Behavior Analysis
BGSU’s applied behavior analysis certificate – when paired with the appropriate master’s degree – prepares you for a career as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Behavior analysts work with people of all ages who live with behavioral challenges.
Our program will teach you how to apply the science of human behavior in various settings, including schools and clinics. You’ll be able to assess what influences a person’s behavior by the end of the program so that you can guide parents and caregivers on how best to manage situations.

Graduates often will pair the applied behavior analysis certificate with a master’s degree to become a BCBA. This may be the right path for you if you’re a special education teacher who’s ready for a change or a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who wants to advance.

Students take seven courses in our applied behavior analysis graduate certificate program. You'll start with an introductory course in behavior analysis, explore other topics such as philosophy and ethics, and perform critical industry research.
