CELEBRATE THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR BY ATTENDING THE

BGSU HIGH SCHOOL HONORS STRING FESTIVAL

      Saturday, September 20, 2026

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A chance to develop the skills & tools you need to thrive and succeed as a musician!

Experience a day in the life of a string player!

Spend time playing together with musicians just like you!

Your experience will include a Festival Orchestra made up of High School string players,
a performance on a BGPhilharmonia concert, lunch at a BGSU Dining facility
and coaching with BGSU Faculty! And a special session with the Duo “Warren & Flick”
who will introduce you to their eclectic style of string music making.

9:45 Student Registration, Kobacker Lobby.

10:00 Everyone on Stage for Announcements, Introduction of Faculty & Dr. Bill Mathis, Dean of the College of Musical Arts.

10:10-11:20 Festival Orchestra rehearsal, Emily Freeman Brown, conductor, Kobacker Hall

11:20 Bathroom Break

11:30-12:20 Workshop with Warren & Flick Duo

12:30 Lunch at University Cafeteria, The Oaks.

1:20 Sectionals + String Technique sessions with CMA Faculty & graduate students

2:30-2:45 Snack, fruit and bottled water, Kobacker Lobby

3:00 Warm-up rehearsal with BGPhilharmonia on stage in Kobacker Hall

4:00 BGP hilharmonia Concert – Kobacker Hall.

5:20 (approximate) Festival concludes at the end of the concert. Parents & guardians will meet their HS participants in Kobacker Lobby.
