BGSU HONORS High School String Festival

“The Future of Music is You!”

Spend time playing together with young musicians just like you!

Learn the skills & tools you need to thrive and succeed!
Experience what it's like to be a college string player!

Sessions will include time with BGSU String Faculty.

The Festival will abide by all BGSU Covid guidelines for the safety of participants.

Participation is open to all intermediate and advanced players.

FOR WHOM: Intermediate to advanced high school string players
who are eager to develop their talent and musicianship.

COST: $35. Covers dinner at BGSU Carillon cafeteria, special t-shirt, snacks and more.

Please note that ALL communication regarding the event will be sent to the parent’s email address as provided on the registration form. Deadlines cannot be extended.

  • Complete the registration form by 9/7. Payment is due with registration and is non-refundable.
  • UNIVERSITY LIABILITY WAIVER, PUBLICITY WAIVER, AND MEDICAL HISTORY FORMS WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU THROUGH ADOBESIGN, AN ON-LINE PLATFORM FOR ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES. Forms are due 9/17.

I. All participants are welcome to perform the Brahms Hungarian Dance in G minor with the BGPhilharmonia. Please download the part for your instrument to prepare in advance.

II. Students who want an extra challenge and would like to perform Respighi's Pines of Rome with the BGPhilharmonia, may download the excerpt for their instrument, prepare it, record it on a smart phone and send it via email to efbrown@bgsu.edu. Faculty will listen to each performance to determine participation in the performance. The deadline for submission of the video is Monday, September 20, 5 p.m.
