High School Falcon Choral Festival

Whether you are a student or educator, this is truly a NEW year with new challenges, teaching scenarios, and creative exploration. It is in this spirit that we are proud to offer the virtual Falcon Choral Festival for Fall 2020! For this year, we are inviting students from around Ohio to record one of two pieces to be featured in a livestreamed concert via the College of Musical Arts YouTube channel later this semester. The performance will include one SSA and one TTBB piece for students to choose from. We are especially excited to announce that the SSA piece, “Hodie” by Jacob Narverud, will be the World Premiere performance!

Participation is *FREE* and open to all high school choir students. Registration is easy!

Please provide your contact information and estimated student participation numbers here: https://bgsu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9ssqOliRx3q5gR7

Once registered, we will send you the Falcon Choral Festival kit which includes part tracks, sheet music, accompaniment tracks, conducting video, pronunciation tracks, media release forms, and submission guidelines. We are also offering an optional lesson plan and rubric kit if you would like to use this project as an assignment in your classes!

Registration deadline is October 12th, but sooner is better! Falcon Choral Festival kits will be sent once completed registration is received. This will allow for more rehearsal and recording time before the final recording submission date of Monday, November 2nd.

Any and all questions should be directed to Choralfestival@bgsu.edu.
