The Center for Student Connections and Opportunity develops, coordinates, and sponsors a variety of education opportunities across campus, such as academic courses, workshops, and collaborative programming with campus partners.
Workshops We Offer:
Belonging 101
This introductory session provides participants with a general understanding of the various elements of promoting belonging, tips, and strategies for being more open and inclusive.
Time needed for this session: 60-90 mins
Safe Zone
The Safe Zone Project at Bowling Green State University promotes awareness of and support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) people.
Time needed for this session: 2.5 hours
Power of Language
This session allows students to examine their self-awareness and learn how our use of everyday language can create a more accessible environment that promotes belonging.
Time needed for this session: 30-60mins

If you would like us to create a session specific to your group or to modify a session already listed please let us know. Please note that for modifications we will need additional time to create or change the session, allow a minimum of 4 weeks.
BGSU 1510: Multicultural Success Seminar
This course integrates academic success strategies with inclusion, belonging, and curricular and co-curricular experiences to support a holistic approach toward the retention and persistence of students. Emphasis on using the Appreciative Advising approach to build positive relationships, enhance self-discovery, set goals, design how to reach goals and to set the bar high for academic and personal success. The course creates opportunities for team building while embracing and benefiting from senses of belonging and inclusion.
