Center for Student Connections and Opportunity
Through the cornerstones of the work of the Office of Multicultural Affairs and LGBTQ+ Programs, as well as newer initiatives deepening support for other underserved populations, The Center for Student Connections and Opportunity (CSCO) provides educational programming and support resources to foster a culture of respect and belonging that positions each BGSU student to reach their fullest potential.
Support Initiatives
Finding a system of support is key to ensuring students experience belonging. CSCO offers a number of support groups providing an opportunity for builging relationships and having intentional conversations about how students experience Bowling Green State University. CSCO additionally provides intentional advising to a number of student organizations. Together with our academic and student engagement partners, we offer programming, conferences, and workshops that simultaneously celebrate history and heritage while welcoming all members of the campus and community to engage in dialogue and be exposed to diverse experiences, thoughts, and cultural traditions. Specific areas of focus for these initiatives include: multicultural engagement, LGBTQ+ programming and support, cultural disability support, first-generation student programming, and multifaith engagement and support.
Belonging Lounge
The Belonging Lounge is a welcoming and supportive space where students from all backgrounds can affirm their sense of identity and community. Located in BTSU 427, the Belonging Lounge provides a variety of resources including programming, education, books, and media for students. This space is also home to the Multicultural and LGBTQ+ Community Rooms.
