BGSU
Presidents Day

We are so excited to welcome you to Bowling Green State University for our Presidents Day Open House on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026. This page gives you a sneak peek at most of the activities and presentations available to you on Presidents Day. You’ll receive a full printed program when you arrive.

The Presidents Day Open House is designed to be a “choose-your-own adventure” event, so please use this information to plan your day and make the most of your time on campus. Use this interactive map to learn more about campus.

Table of Contents

Top 5 Tips for a Great Day

Today is all about exploration and connection. No appointments or pressure, just opportunities to learn and ask questions. Use this information to build a day that’s as unique as you.

Presentation Schedule

Our main presentations will be offered from 8:15 a.m. to about 12:45 p.m. in the Bowen Thompson Student Union and Olscamp Hall. These presentations are designed to provide the information you need to know about topics like financial aid, student housing, study abroad opportunities and more.

Special Activities and Tours

Our special activities and tours are a great way to explore campus, dig deeper into your academic interest areas and connect with faculty, staff and students. These activities are offered throughout the day, and some are only offered at the Presidents Day Open House. We recommend planning a good portion of your day around the special activities you’re most interested in.

Exhibitor Area

The exhibitor area is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you have questions or need assistance finding an exhibitor, stop by the Presidents Day information tables located in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Ballroom. BGSU representatives will be available until 3 p.m. to help with any questions.

Dining on Campus

Find the perfect spot on campus to have lunch and grab a coffee (or two).

Getting Around Campus

Hop on an orange BGSU shuttle to zip around campus, then take a charter bus when it's time to depart.

Campus Tours

Campus tours run continuously from 10 a.m. until the last tour departs at 2 p.m. Two options are available: A 60-minute full tour and a 30-minute express tour. Tours leave from the second floor of University Hall. Let staff know which tour you’d like when you arrive.

Residence Hall Tours

Residence halls are not included on the general campus tours, so be sure to include at least one residence hall in our plan for the day. Most of our first-year residence halls are open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for self-guided tours. Residence hall tours are a very popular activity at the Presidents Day Open House, so plan extra time in case there’s a wait to see the showroom.

Top 5 Tips for a Great Day

  1. Build your own schedule. Pick the presentations, tours and activities that matter most to you and design a day that fits your interests and priorities.
  2. Plan with the map in mind. Activities take place all over campus. Check locations in the program and use the campus map to plan an efficient route between stops.
  3. Expect crowds and plan extra time. Presidents Day Open House is our largest visit day of the year. Some sessions may fill, and there may be short waits for tours, residence halls and dining.  A little flexibility goes a long way.
  4. Use the exhibitor area as your backup plan. If a presentation is full or overlaps with another activity, stop by the exhibitor area to talk one-on-one with faculty, staff and campus partners.
  5. Ask for help and make yourself at home. Volunteers and staff are everywhere and happy to help with directions, recommendations or questions. This day is all about you.

Presentation Schedule

All presentations are 30 minutes long and will be held in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union or Olscamp Hall. Space is limited in the presentation rooms. If a presentation fills, please check the schedule for an alternative presentation time or visit the presenter at their table in the exhibitor area.

Campus Tours

10 a.m.-2 p.m.
University Hall
Don’t miss a student-led tour of campus! Enjoy the full 60-minute tour or take the 30-minute express tour. Tours leave from the second floor of University Hall. Let us know which tour you’d prefer when you arrive. The last tour begins at 2 p.m. Please note: Residence hall tours are not included on the general campus tour.

Residence Hall Tours

First-year residence halls are open for self-guided tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residence halls are extremely popular stops today. Plan extra time in case there’s a short wait to see a showroom (especially in Centennial and McDonald halls)

Make the most of your day

We know this is a busy day, and you may not have time to visit all the residence halls. This guide will help you decide which residence halls to tour. We have grouped residence halls together by location. If you’re hoping to take multiple tours, we recommend saving time by visiting halls that are close to each other.

Helpful Tips

  • General campus tours do not include a residence hall tour today.
  • To tour a residence hall, head to the lobby of the building you’d like to explore.
  • You will be able to see one room on each tour. Other room types may be viewed at 360.bgsu.edu
