2019 year in review

A message from the President

Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni and Friends,

As we close another memorable year, I’ve been reflecting on Bowling Green State University and all we have experienced in 2019. Our learning community welcomed new students, graduated and recognized new alumni, created new academic programs, broke ground on new and renovated facilities and developed new partnerships.

For me, it is so much more. Our commitment to creating public good is realized in the research efforts of our faculty, in the grit of our students to make a difference and in our responsibility we have to the communities we serve. I am proud of how we came together to focus on the future of our University. Every day, we are preparing our students to live meaningful and productive lives, empowering them to have successful careers, but also do good in their communities. Our Year In Review shows just how we are achieving that mission.

We continue to advance our strategic plan, and you'll see that we remain grounded in our objectives to:

  • Redefining student success
  • Connecting our research and creative activities for public good
  • Empowering and supporting our people to achieve excellence
  • Advancing our impact through engagement
  • Aligning for excellence and value
  • Telling our story

In 2019, we witnessed the impact our University had on Ohio, the nation and world. We are not stopping there and have more of our story still to write. View the moments that defined 2019 for Bowling Green State University – a public university for the public good. I am already looking forward to what we can accomplish together next.

Regards,

Rodney Rogers Signature Transparent
