BGSU Men’s Chorus to Perform at ACDA in Chicago

The University Men’s Chorus will be performing at Chicago’s Harris Theater on Saturday, February 19 at 10:15 AM.  The performance is part of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Midwestern Region Conference being held at the Harris Theater and Fairmont Hotel from February 16-19.  The ACDA Midwestern Region includes Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.  The BGSU Men’s Chorus is one of fourteen choirs from the ten-state region selected to perform for the conference through a blind audition process.  They will share the 10:15 concert on Saturday with the Chicago Chamber Choir and the Luther College Nordic Choir.

BGSU Alumni, and friends and family of BGSU Men’s Chorus are invited to attend the performance.  Admission is free but current COVID-19 mitigation protocols are in place to keep everyone safe. All concert attendees must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and wear a face covering in all venues.  In order to receive your free ticket, report to the ACDA registration desk on the 2nd floor of the Fairmont Chicago Hotel at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the performance.  Be sure to bring your photo ID and proof full COVID-19 vaccination.  The Harris Theater is located across the street from the Fairmont Hotel.

Widely reputed as “America’s Finest Singing Machine,” the BGSU Men’s Chorus is an auditioned large ensemble open to all tenor and bass singers on campus. The ensemble encompasses students across all majors, representing all seven colleges at the University; over half of the members are non-music majors. Uniquely, the chorus functions as a student organization as well as a registered course offered through the College of Musical Arts, deriving from them both an atmosphere of brotherly camaraderie and exemplary musicianship.
