We encourage all applicants to present an in-person campus audition to visit the Moore Musical Arts Center and meet our faculty. However, this may not always be possible.

Students who live more than 250 miles from campus may submit a recorded audition in lieu of an in-person performance. Recorded auditions will be considered for both entrance and scholarships. Students may also submit their audition recordings through our Acceptd page. To ensure scholarship consideration, recorded auditions must be mailed to arrive at the College of Musical Arts by Friday, February 23.

The recorded audition should consist of selections as described under Undergraduate Audition Requirements, and should be recorded in stereo utilizing the highest quality equipment available. Students who submit a recorded audition will complete the required written music theory test at summer orientation and registration.

Please complete and submit the online Audition Reservation Form and mail your recorded audition to: Coordinator of Music Admissions, College of Musical Arts, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio 43403-0290, or email them to MusicAdmissions@bgsu.edu.

Admission to Bowling Green State University as a music major or minor is competitive. Most applicants will receive email notification of their audition results within 1-2 weeks of their audition date, followed by an official letter in the mail.

There are three possible audition decisions:

1. Approved: The student meets minimum entrance criteria and is allowed to begin formal study as a music major or minor at Bowling Green State University contingent upon unconditional admission to the University. Notification to the College of Musicals Arts is required no later than May 1 to guarantee your space in the incoming class of music majors/minors.

2. Not Approved: The student does not meet minimum criteria to be a music major/minor. Students that are “Not Approved” to major in music may attend BGSU if they declare a different major and have been admitted to the University.

3. Delay Decision: Students are placed on a waitlist. Final decisions will be made after the February 23, 2019 audition date.
