Developing the Tuba: Examining and playing historic instruments

I believe the best way for us to understand how low brass instruments developed is to hold and play them. Most of the instruments will be available for attendees to examine and play. This is intended to be an open-ended question and answer session.

Jim-McIntyre-jimcint

Jim McIntyre is an engineer by day and amateur tuba/euphonium player. He is also a collector of historic low brass instruments and a student of the history of our instrument. He will bring a number of instruments, ranging in age from 1845 to present and will use these to illustrate the development of our instrument.
