John Boda’s "Sonatina" in the 21st Century

An examination of John Boda’s "Sonatina for Euphonium and Synthesizer," the first published electro-acoustic work for the euphonium, detailing the piece’s history and its place within the greater electro-acoustic euphonium genre. This presentation will detail how the synthesizer accompaniment has changed throughout the years through remastering and advances in audio technology, will compare the synthesizer accompaniment to the unpublished piano reduction arranged by Dr. Boda himself, and will provide a performance guide and sound equipment set-up for the modern performer.
