In 2010, Mr. Charters founded Sabal Capital Management, LLC, an investment management firm with approximately $150MM Assets Under Management. He has had a sixteen-year career in the investment community with an emphasis on special situations investing, short selling and restructuring. Mr. Charters was previously a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Spring Point Capital Management, formerly Botti Brown Asset Management, a $1.5 billion market neutral, short-only and special situations hedge fund manager where he was Portfolio Manager of the Spring Point Special Situations Fund.

Mr Charters has successfully invested throughout the capital structure, including long investments in common stock, preferred stock, sub debt, convertible debt, senior unsecured and secured bank debt and short investments through CDS, bonds and common stock.  Prior to Spring Point, Mr. Charters worked as a credit analyst for Bank of America and National City Bank, where he participated in some of the largest bankruptcy restructurings in U.S. History and provided bridge financing to assist companies with solvency issues.

Mr. Charters received a B.S., Finance degree from Bowling Green State University in 1998.  He is a CFA® charter-holder since 2004 and passed the Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) exams in 2005.  Mr. Charters resides in Calabasas, California.
