Christine Seiler Honored with Women of Distinction Award

SEILER

The Women of Distinction Award honors a student, staff member, or faculty member who demonstrates excellence, ingenuity, and the ability to overcome barriers that still exist for women. Criteria used to select women for this honor include being a lifelong advocate for promoting equity for women and girls, serving as a mentor/role model, and being dedicated to empowering women and girls to achieve their goals.

Christine Seiler, an instructor in the marketing department, was presented this prestigious award in March. She has been teaching at BGSU for the past 16 years, focusing primarily on professional selling courses. Seiler is the current faculty advisor to the Women in Business Leadership student organization and the coordinator of the annual Women in Leadership Conference. She previously served as the associate director of the Service Marketing Institute and spent over 10 years coaching sales students to compete successfully in local, regional and national sales competitions.

The marketing instructor is also an organizational and management development consultant, who specializes in helping organizations maximize their productivity through employee development initiatives. Prior to leaving the full-time corporate arena, Seiler was the director of educational services at United Health Partnership in Toledo and the manager of training and development for Hancor, Inc. in Findlay.

Seiler earned her bachelor’s in business administration in 1986 and an MBA in 1992, both from BGSU and later earned an educational specialist degree from the University of Toledo.

The Women of Distinction Award is presented by the BGSU Center for Leadership. Seiler was nominated for this award by business student Maggy Dorian, president of Women in Business Leadership and a College of Business Student Ambassador, who is pictured with Seiler above.
