National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)
Bowling Green State University participates in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) to collect data on the quality of the undergraduate experience, focusing on time and effort students put into their learning and development and institutional resources and support. NSSE surveys first-year and senior students to assess levels of engagement and related information about their experience at BGSU.

Information for the BGSU 2025 NSSE
BGSU participated in the 2025 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). First-year and senior students received an invitation to complete the survey on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Reminder emails were sent through March 18th, and the survey closed on May 12th. There was a survey link in Canvas for eligible students.
$5 in BG1 Bucks were awarded to the first 100 first-year students and first 100 seniors who completed the survey. Additionally, participants were entered to win one of several prizes through random drawings*, including:
• $500 NSSE participation scholarships awarded to 2 first-year students for Fall 2025
• $250 Amazon gift cards awarded to 4 seniors
• $50 Falcon Outfitters gift cards awarded to 20 students
• $25 Falcon Outfitters gift cards awarded to 20 students
*All prize details were determined in the sole and absolute discretion of the University. Federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations apply to such prizes. Chances of winning depended on how many complete the survey; the last time we administered this survey about 1,978 students responded. If the winner received federal, state, private or other University financial aid, it may have been necessary to adjust the financial aid package and reduce other aid. Depending on other aid awarded, participants may not be eligible to receive some prizes. Random drawings for gift cards occured after the NSSE survey closed in May. Winners were notified via email to their BGSU emails, and were solely responsible for any taxes associated with their prize.
