What can be recycled?
Anything with a cord or battery operated:

- NO TUBE TVS, CRTS, REFIGERATORS, A/C UNITS, OR ANY OTHER LARGE APPLIANCES

- This is your chance to recycle unwanted electronic devices & scrap items in an enviromentally safe way with ZERO landfill waste!
- Includes certified destruction of hard drives & other data-bearing devices.
On-Campus Electronics Recycling
Batteries, Electronics, & Printer Cartridges:
All types of batteries, electronics, & ink cartridges are recycled at BGSU through the Office of Campus Sustainability. This includes:
- All types of batteries: Alkaline/single-use batteries, Lithium-ion, Nickel/cadmium, Lead-acid, etc.
- Cellphones, Cameras, Computers, Chargers anything that "turns on"
- Printer ink & toner cartridges (for more information, please see the bottom of this webpage)
- Anything with a cord! Think office equipment, small breakroom appliances, cleaning devices/tools, and more
- Larger appliances can be picked up through a maintenance request (see orange button)
If your office would like to host a electronic waste recycling box, send an email request to greenbg@bgsu.edu
Hosting a collection box is easy! When it gets to be about two-thirds full, simply complete a maintenance request here:

Perry ProTech (Konica Minolta and HP) Used Toner Cartridges:
University printer cartridges from university printers (printers that have a Perry ProTech sticker with ID number) can be recycled in the following ways:
- Leave used printer cartridges in their boxes next to the closest e-waste box for future pickup (see list above). When box is about two-thirds full, submit a maintenance request for pickup.
- Dropping off empty printer cartridges by the elevator / loading dock door at the southeast corner of the 1st floor of Hayes Hall
- For BGSU offices that consistently go through ink/toner cartridges, or have insufficient space near their e-waste box, please consider signing up for Konica Minolta’s free, mail-in printer cartridge recycling program: https://www.cleanplanetprogram.com/register
