The 15 errors are highlighted and listed in detail , each numbered accordingly.

Did you find all 15?  Potential employers will find these errors.  Use this as a learning experience to improve your own resume.

1.       Missing punctuation (periods). “Rd, Apt7” should be “Rd., Apt.7”

2.       Distracting logo/graphic. The vast majority of employers do not like these graphics as they are distracting and add no value.

3.       Inconsistent formatting. This date format differs from others used. Always list a start and end date for all areas. Should be “August 2031-May 2035”

4.       Redundant heading. Avoid unnecessary wording. “Work”, in this instance, is already implied with the “Experience” title, and is therefore not needed.

5.       Date not in chronological order. In all sections, always list most recent experiences first, then chronologically backwards.

6.       Unprofessional writing and too short. Need to add more detail (use WHAT+HOW=RESULT formula) and professional writing terms. Also, be sure to use the entire line, not such little text, making it appear incomplete.

7.       Redundant description. Using “the company” devalues the company name “Rollins Robotics” which is already used. Also inconsistent formatting.

8.       Missing comma.  “$2500” should be “$2,500”

9.       Inconsistent formatting. Entire blank line used after category heading here where it is not anywhere else on resume.

10.   Repeated terms, unprofessional writing. Be sure to use varying terms when describing your experience. Also avoid starting any with “I”.

11.   Repeated information. No need to list “Make-A-Wish Foundation” a 2nd time when it already appears in the title.

12.   Inconsistent formatting. States listed use 2 letter abbreviation everywhere else on resume except here. Consistency is very important, and in this case “OH” should be used.

13.   Repeated/redundant information. No need to list year twice if time occurs during same year. “June 2033-Sept. 2033” should be “June-Sept. 2033”

14.   Avoid defining your skill level. Your definition of “Excellent” and the readers could be completely different, leading to misrepresentation of your skills, and a “dishonest” reputation. Simply list the skill, it is the responsibility of the reader to investigate further to determine your skill level.

15.   Inconsistent formatting. All details listed do not follow same format as other sections. The easier your resume is to read, the more your content will be read.
