The BGSU Student Recreation Center isn’t just for students.
The Rec is a state-of-the-art facility open to the entire Bowling Green community. From the climbing wall and Olympic-sized pool to pickleball courts, massage chairs, sauna, martial arts room, and event space rentals for birthday parties, the Rec is a community resource dedicated to your overall well-being.

How to Purchase a Student Recreation Center Membership
Purchase your membership in-person at the Student Recreation Center Welcome Desk.
- If you have not yet been assigned a password,
Contact Julia Adams at jthatch@bgsu.edu to obtain your username and password.
OR
Complete the Rec Center Account form. Please allow two business days for a personal response from our staff.
- If you already have a MyRec account login, register online using the MyRec portal, or on a mobile device through the BGSU Recreation and Wellness app for iPhone or Android.
- Enter your email or username. (Only BGSU students and employees will use the BGSU MyRec Login button.)

Installment payment plans available on annual memberships.
*Prices are per child. Child(ren) 15 and under must be enrolled with a parent or legal guardian's membership. Patrons 16+ are eligible, but not required, to purchase an individual membership. Children 18 years of age and older are required to purchase their own individual membership.

Insurance-Based Memberships
Participating Insurance Programs
Membership is FREE for individuals with the following health plans: SilverSneakers®, Renew Active™ by UnitedHealthcare, AARP® Medicare Supplement Plan insured by UnitedHealthcare, and Silver&Fit.
Corporate Memberships
Corporate memberships are available to northwest Ohio businesses and government agencies enrolling a minimum of 10 employees at a time for an annual membership at the BGSU Student Recreation Center. Contact Julia Adams at 419-372-7485 or jthatch@bgsu.edu for complete details and enrollment.
General and universally accessible lockers are available for both day use and long-term rental at the Rec on a first-come, first-served basis. Locker rentals are valid for one year from the purchase date and are available at the Rec Center Welcome Desk.
Refer to the Recreation and Wellness Rules and Regulations Page for a complete listing of capacities and cleaning protocols.
General Locker Rooms:
- A limited number of day use lockers are available in each locker room. Locks and towels are not provided. Patrons must bring their own.
- Half- and full-size lockers can be rented at any time for up to one year. Rented lockers include a Rec-issued combination lock; towels are not included.
Private Locker Rooms:
- A private locker area is located within both the men's and women's locker rooms with upgraded amenities including spacious full size lockers, cable television, lock and towel service, and close proximity to the shower area.
- Private lockers can be rented at any time for up to one year.
Small Valuable Storage:
- Combination lockers are offered for day use in the Weight/Strength zone for storage of small valuables.
Locker Rental Rates:
- Full-size: Semester: $40, Annual: $70
- Half-size: Semester: $30, Annual: $50
- Private: Semester: $70, Annual: $120
All vehicles parked on campus are required to have an official BGSU parking permit. Community members can obtain permit(s) at the Perry Field House or Rec Center Welcome Desk. BGSU affiliates must contact Parking Services for the designated permit.
Parking Pass
- Monthly Pass: $15
- Semester Pass: $20
- Annual Pass: $35
- A kiosk is available in Lot X (Rear Entrance on Mercer Road) to purchase hourly passes.
- Accessible entry is available at the rear entrance off of Mercer Road. Patrons requiring assistance at this entrance need to call 419.372.2705 upon arrival.
- Refer to Parking Services for a complete listing of parking hours of enforcement and other regulations.
Patrons and guests with disabilities are requested to indicate if special services, assistance, or appropriate modifications are needed to fully participate. Contact Accessibility Services at access@bgsu.edu or 419.372.8495 prior to the program or event.
In the event a patron refund is issued, a $25 service charge applies. Checks returned for any reason are charged a $30 processing fee.
