What to expect
Group Exercise classes are designed to help you feel comfortable, supported, and ready to move. Here's what you can expect:
- Purchase your pass at the Rec Center Welcome Desk or online.
- Reserve your spot online or just show up to see if space is available.
- Use your BGSU ID or key fob to enter the Rec.
- Plan to arrive 5 - 10 minutes early.
- All equipment is provided. Feel free to bring your own mat if you prefer!
- Bring water and wear comfortable workout clothes.
- Sweat, have fun, and enjoy the class!
A Group Exercise pass gives you unlimited access to all Group Exercise classes for the semester.

Passes can be purchased at the Rec Center Welcome Desk, through the BGSU RecWell app for iPhone or android, or online using the MyRec portal. BGSU faculty & staff are eligible to purchase continuning Group Exercise passes using payroll deduction. Learn more about payroll deduction.
- BGSU Students, Faculty & Staff: When logging in, select ‘BGSU MyRec Login’ and use your BGSU username and password.
- Community Members: Use the white box labeled ‘email or username’ and log in using your assigned username and password.
- First time community members need to have an account created before using the portal. Please complete the Rec Center Account Form to have your account created and a staff member will send a follow-up email with your login information
- Once logged-in, select the “Membership & Passes” icon. Select ‘SRC GroupX Unlimited Pass’ to attend unlimited fitness classes for the entire semester. If you are interested in attending classes for just one day, select the ‘SRC Day – GroupX’.
Once a pass is purchased, Group Exercise members can reserve a spot in a fitness class up to a week in advance. Registering for fitness classes in advance is not required, but will ensure your spot in the class.
- Click on your chosen class from the schedule above.
- Click "Register for this class."
- Once you are signed in, click “Select” in the lower right corner.
- The button should update to “Selected” with a checkmark. Once this occurs, click on the brown “Register” button below.
- On the next screen, click appropriate payment option then proceed to click “Proceed to Checkout”
- Confirm registration details and click “Checkout”
- Attend your fitness class and enjoy!
Classes are held in the fitness studios in the lower level of the Rec, including Studio A, Studio B, and the Functional Training room. View a facility map here.
You can cancel your registration by logging into the MyRec Portal and following the steps below.
- Select sign in from the top right-hand corner
- Log in with your credentials
- Once logged in, select your username in the top right-hand corner and click “Profile”
- On the next screen, select “Program Registrations” located on the left-hand side of the screen under your profile and ID number
- Click on the three vertical dots, select “Cancel Registration” from the drop-down menu
- Select “Confirm” on the following screen to finalize cancellation.

Use your BGSU ID or key fob to enter the Rec. After you purchase a Group Exercise pass, a key fob is provided. Enter through the main entrance (where the Rec Center Welcome Desk is) or at the secondary entrance (connected to Lot X).
During Free Week (the first week of the semester), and Exam Week, all classes are free to attend.

Prior to attending a class, review all the rules and regulations and helpful tips below that are designed to provide the safest environment possible. Group Exercise participants are also responsible to observe all Student Recreation Center and Recreation and Wellness Rules and Regulations.
- Studio capacity is limited.
- Participants are encouraged to clean equipment before and after use.
- Patrons are encouraged to bring their own mat, workout towel and water bottle. Yoga class, participants are encouraged to bring their own mat, blocks & straps, although these items are also provided in the studio.
