Viola Day
Saturday, November 8th
Join BGSU’s Viola Day to celebrate all things viola! All high school, college, and adult violists are welcome. Come learn from world-class artists/teachers, perform with your fellow violists, and connect with others who share a passion for this instrument!
Activities are primarily geared towards violists of an intermediate to advanced level of performance, but everyone is welcome. Music Educators are welcome to attend.
$10 registration includes all activities. Participants are responsible for their own lunch. Ensemble music will be sent to participants after registration.

Interested in Performing in a Masterclass?
Please let us know of your interest on the registration form. You can also email Dr. Levinson with questions, or to propose potential repertoire. Space is limited, but every effort will be made to include as many participants as possible. All levels and ages are invited to participate.

2025 Guest Artist: Tze-Ying Wu
Dr. Tze-Ying Wu is an Associate Professor of Viola and String Education at the University of Kentucky and director of the UK String Project. In 2024, she was honored with the Outstanding Educator Award by the Kentucky Chapter of the American String Teachers Association for her contributions to music education. Before joining UK, she was the founding director of the Sturgis Music Academy (now ASO String Academy) of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. She earned her Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees in viola performance from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music under Professor Atar Arad and worked closely with Mimi Zweig and Dr. Brenda Brenner at the IU String Academy. Dr. Wu has performed with orchestras such as the Lexington Philharmonic, Arkansas Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, and Singapore Symphony. A dedicated chamber musician, she performs extensively with the Formosa Trio, which recently completed a U.S. tour in 2024, featuring concerts at major universities and arts venues.
