Field Coaching

Project IMPACT has teamed with experienced teachers from partner districts to provide virtual field coaching to teacher candidates and new teachers. The Field Coaches are trained on methods to make the coaching formative rather than evaluative. This gives teacher candidates more opportunities to improve their classroom skills. The project incorporates the GoReact video sharing and formative feedback tool to provide live and asynchronous comments on Project IMPACT teachers and teacher candidates. This system supports time-stamped formative feedback on pre-recorded video recordings and on live video streams, which can be used to support remote observation of teacher candidates and novice teachers by their mentors.
