Mental Health & Wellbeing in Ohio Schools: Communication & Connection for Safer Schools (C2S2) is a three year, $1,853,070 grant from United States Office of Justice Programs (OJP) Preventing School Violence: BJA's STOP School Violence Program. The goal of C2S2 is to reduce violence in Ohio schools. We will accomplish this by provided mental health & wellbeing awareness training in local school districts.

Project Objectives:

  1. Establish, develop, and strengthen partnerships between Bowling Green State University and Ohio school districts focused on supporting mental health and wellbeing in schools.
  2. Establish, develop, and strengthen partnerships between Bowling Green State University and community partners, including parents and families focused on supporting mental health and wellbeing in youth.
  3. Prevent school violence through a special focus on training school personnel to respond to mental health crises.
  4. Meet the needs of rural and/or high-poverty school districts in Ohio, which represent traditionally underserved and/or marginalized students, to provide training on mental health awareness and response, stress reduction, and healthy communication and connection in schools.
