Community Participants:

Participation in this CoP is limited to alumni of the previous Fostering Critical Thinking through AI Literacy Community of Practice. 

Community Description:

Having built a foundation in AI Literacy, this community is designed for faculty ready to move from learner to leader. Former participants will reflect on their classroom implementations, share success and challenges, explore emerging scholarships and evolving tools, and discuss strategies for bringing AI Literacy conversations within their departments and colleges. 

Unlike the foundational community, which introduced the five dimensions of AI literacy, this community will focus on deeper conversations about effective, human-centered AI integration in teaching and learning. Through peer exchange and critical reflection, participants will strengthen their own practice while shaping AI literacy across the BGSU community.

Community Learning Outcomes:

By participating in this community, you will be able to:

• Critically evaluate the effectiveness of AI literacy strategies implemented in your own courses, using evidence from student work and classroom experience to inform ongoing practice.
• Engage with current and emerging scholarship on AI literacy, generative AI, and pedagogy to deepen and challenge their existing frameworks.
• Articulate a discipline-specific approach to AI literacy that reflects the values, conventions, and needs of your field.
• Create an advocacy plan and resource guide for fostering AI literacy conversations within your departments, programs, and the broader BGSU community. 
• Collaborate with a network of experienced faculty peers to share best practices, troubleshoot challenges, and sustain a community of reflective, human-centered AI literacy educators.

Participant Expectations:*

As a member of this community, you are expected to:

• Attend 80% of sessions.
• Submit an advocacy plan and resource guide.
• Submit CoP reflection

*Participants in this community must meet the stated participant expectations in order to be eligible to receive funds for participation.
