Profile:
Dr. Larry Willis is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the School of Media and Communication at Bowling Green State University. His teaching focuses on helping students develop practical communication skills that translate across academic and professional contexts. He has taught courses including Public Speaking (COMM 1020), Persuasion (COMM 3030), Media and Strategic Communication (MDIA 3610), and the Applied Communication Capstone (COMM 4001).

Dr. Willis earned his Ph.D. in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Alabama. His work centers on inclusive pedagogical practices, with a focus on ensuring that all students have meaningful and equitable learning experiences. His research is applied in nature, examining how communication skills can be taught in ways that support student success and transfer effectively into real-world workplace contexts. He also explores how inclusive communication practices prepare students to navigate and succeed in diverse professional environments.

He holds a Master of Science in Strategic Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Public Relations from Troy University, as well as an Associate of Arts in Social Science from James H. Faulkner State Community College.
