What is it like to be an ICS intern?

Interned at ICS: Fall 2024 

I have loved my time working with ICS during Fall 2024. Throughout the semester, I gained valuable experience in writing, content creation, and supporting a mission-driven organization. This opportunity allowed me to sharpen my storytelling skills, work creatively on various projects, and deepen my understanding of communication strategies within a nonprofit setting. I am excited to continue my journey as a Journalism Intern at the Toledo Free Press, continue freelancing with BG Falcon Media, and explore new opportunities in writing and content creation. I’m grateful for the growth, mentorship, and professional experience I gained through ICS, all of which have been invaluable as I build my career.

Josh Martin-Hayden

Interned at ICS: Fall 2024 

Joshua was a fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree in Advertising. During his time at BGSU, he was an active member of the BGSU eSports community, where he organized campus fighting game tournaments. He was also part of the 2021 cohort of the Sidney A. Ribeau President’s Leadership Academy. In addition to his academic and leadership involvement, Joshua hosted and operated BGSU’s rgaming events.

Elyse Adrian

Interned at ICS: Fall 2024 

Elyse was a fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Political Science with a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies. During their time at BGSU, they served as the Vice President of the Undergraduate Student Government and were recognized as an Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholar. Elyse enjoys reading and journaling in their free time.

Dylana Harris 

Interned at ICS: Fall 2023 | Research and Digital Media 

I worked as an intern for ICS in the Fall of 2023 and I loved the experience! I gained experience in researching and scripting for the ICS podcast and even stepped into the recording studio to take behind the scenes photos and videos to use for ICS social media such as TikTok. It was a great opportunity to meet interesting people, learn about impactful projects, and help contribute to the promotion of the humanities for the public good!
