Visit
An essential step in the college research process for any artist is exploring the spaces you’ll work and meeting the faculty who will guide you through the next chapter of your career. Let us help you see the possibilities at BGSU School of Art, join us for a personalized tour, sign up for an admissions event, or stop by ArtsX or a gallery opening to get a peek into the student experience.
Personalized Visits
Personalized visits typically include a tour of the BGSU Fine Arts Center and the Wolfe Center for the Arts as well as a conversation with School of Art staff, faculty, and/or students about programs offered. These opportunities are appropriate for those who want a one-on-one conversation tailored to their area of interest and allows time for in-depth conversations. You may choose to add a campus tour or request to visit with other major areas while you’re here, we can help you to build your visit your way!
Questions about arts tours, need flexibility on scheduling, or have a request for your visit? Reach out to Hope Hooper, Coordinator of Arts Admissions and Promotions.

Admissions Events
Prospective students can choose from several admissions events to learn more about the School of Art, tour facilities, and meet faculty and students.
Every fall, the School of Art offers a special day for high school juniors and seniors to explore all the different areas of visual art at BGSU. Visitors have the opportunity to talk to School of Art faculty and students, explore the studios in the Fine Arts Center and the Wolfe Center for the Arts, and learn more about the art-based majors and minors at BGSU.
This event is a great opportunity for students who know they want to attend the School of Art and prefer a group visit experience to learn more, have more than one area of interest within the School of Art, or are planning their first visit to BGSU.
Arts Discovery Day 2025: Friday, September 19
University Preview Days are an opportunity for prospective students to learn more about BGSU in general and explore majors of interest. Students interested in majors within the School of Art may choose to speak with faculty and current students in the School of Art as well as take a tour of the facilities.
These events may be a good visit option for you if you would like to join a group visit that includes information about the university as a whole, if you have more than one major of interest, and if you’d like to see School of Art facilities and briefly meet our faculty and students. Preview Days are a great option for a first visit to BGSU.
Preview Day dates for 2025
Saturday, October 25, 2025
Saturday, December 6, 2025
Every Fall, the School of Art attends several National Portfolio Day Association events. These events allow high school students to meet with a member of our faculty who will give the students feedback on their portfolios. While we do not require a portfolio be submitted for acceptance into the School of Art, these events are great opportunities to interact with faculty.
These events may be appropriate for you if you live in the area of the event and are not able to make a visit to the BGSU campus, or if you are just starting your college research and want to meet faculty before you commit to a campus visit. This is an opportunity to have an in-depth conversation with one faculty member about your artwork and to get contact information for further discussion and questions about programs or the university.
Fall 2025 NPDA events at which BGSU will participate are:
NPDA Chicago | Sunday, October 5
Hosted by: School of the Art Institute of Chicago
NPDA Columbus | Saturday, October 18
Hosted by: Columbus College of Art and Design
NPDA Cleveland | Saturday, November 9

Visitors start their day learning a little about BGSU and then have the opportunity to explore majors of interest. Students interested in majors with the School of Art can choose to tour facilities at the Fine Arts Center and Wolfe Center for the Arts and have an opportunity to meet art faculty and students.
This opportunity may be appropriate for you if you prefer to join a group visit to learn about BGSU in general, check out art facilities, have brief conversations with faculty and current students, and make connections with folks on campus who can help with the admissions process.
