Mary Kay Inkrott Hiser, M.Ed

Mary Kay has worked with the Thompson Working Family Scholarship since August 2016 and oversees all aspects of Thompson Scholarship Programs, which is the Student Services & Programming/Retention piece of the scholarship. She enjoys getting to know her students and helping them reach their goals. Mary Kay is a two-time BGSU graduate (2005: Bachelor’s - Sport Management; 2006: Master’s - Sport Administration) and has worked over a decade in higher education, including athletics and academic advising.

Kristin Payne, M.A.

Kristin started with Thompson Scholarship Programs in June 2018, transitioning over from the College of Arts & Sciences where she served as an academic advisor. She is a 2003, and 2008 BGSU graduate with a BA in Film Studies, and a MA in College Student Personnel. Kristin has over a decade of higher education experience including admissions, recruitment, academic advising, and teaching. She resides in Perrysburg, Ohio with her partner Benjamin, their three lively children, German Shepherd puppy, and super cool cat.

Kayla Ballinger, M.A.

Kayla joined the Thompson Scholarship Programs team in June 2019. She is a two-time graduate of BGSU (2013 & 2018) with a BS in Education and MA in College Student Personnel. She has experience in Career Services, Transfer, Academic/Undecided Advising, and Study Abroad. She lives in Bowling Green with her husband, plants, and two dogs.

Jason Nankivell, M.A.

Jason started with TFS as a Graduate Advisor getting his Master’s student in the College Student Personnel program at BGSU- and now he is working full-time with the program. He graduated from Purdue University in May 2018 with a BS in Environmental and Ecological Engineering. Jason was heavily involved with orientation programs in his undergraduate experience, and the culture of inclusion and collaboration among diverse student groups led him to the field of student affairs. Jason was born and raised in Bettendorf, Iowa and loves sports and traveling whenever he gets the opportunity.

Dae’lyn Do, M.A.

Dae'lyn started her journey with TFS in May 2019 working as a graduate advisor while she received her master’s degree in the College Student Personnel from BGSU. She now works full-time with the program as a coordinator. Dae'lyn is originally from Oklahoma where she graduated from Northeastern State University with a bachelor's degree in political science and public relations and advertising. She was heavily involved with student government and the student newspaper during her undergraduate experience, serving as both the student body president and editor in chief of the newspaper. Her experience as a first-generation, low income college student led her to the field of student affairs. She is passionate about helping future college students in the same way so many university professionals helped her. In her free time, Dae'lyn loves hiking, baking, gardening, board gaming and adventuring with her husband and two pups.

Morgan Alexander-Coster

Morgan Alexander-Coster is a graduate advisor for the Thompson Scholarship Program and a secind-year Master's student in the College Student Personnel (CSP) program at BGSU. Originally from Charlotte, NC, Morgan graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Political Science-Public Administration with minors in Leadership Studies and Nonprofit Management. As an undergraduate student, she was involved with the offices of Campus Activities, Leadership Development, and the school's service-learning programs. She has worked professionally with student engagement and success at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and as a GA with the Wellness Connection at BGSU. Helping students find their "why" in and out of the classroom is what drives her passion for working with college students. She enjoys spending time cooking, baking, and exploring the outdoors with her wife, two cute cats, and one sweet dog.

Nick Malendowski

Nick Malendowski is a first-year graduate advisor for the Thompson Scholarship Program and is a Master's student in the College Student Personnel (CSP) program at BGSU. Originally from Chesterfield, MI, Nick graduated from Central Michigan University in May 2021, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Psychology, along with a minor in Family Studies. Throughout his undergraduate career, Nick was heavily involved on campus through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a Campus Ambassador, a New Student Orientation Mentor, and as a research assistant through the College of Health Professions. I have always been passionate about helping others find their voice and their passions, leading to my career in Higher Education and Student Affairs. As a first-generation college student myself, I aim to make higher education more accessible and equitable for all students. Outside of work and school, Nick enjoys trying out local (iced) coffee shops, watching reality TV, and laughing with friends, but most importantly, making memories that will last a lifetime!

Marianne started working with Thompson Scholarship Programs in April 2021 but has been working at BGSU since July 2002. Previously with the Student and Academic Services office in the College of Education and Human Development. She has enjoyed being oncampus and interacting with the students.
