Professor Arne Spohr Delivered Keynote at International Conference in Germany

On Friday, June 20, 2025, Dr. Arne Spohr, Professor of Musicology, delivered the keynote lecture at the international interdisciplinary conference "Sound Space Court: Music, Acoustics, and Space in Courtly Architecture of Early Modern Europe" in Rudolstadt, Germany. The conference explored how ensembles of palace, chapel, and garden functioned as sonic spaces designed to reinforce the authority of early modern princely elites. Dr. Spohr presented research from his current book project, "Concealed Music in Early Modern Pleasure Houses."
