Dr. Lisa Gruenhagen Published in TRIAD

Dr. Lisa Gruenhagen, Associate Professor of Music Education, co-authored an article with Mrs. Anna McClure, M.M., music specialist at David Hill CLC, Akron Public Schools, for the Fall 2025 issue of TRIAD (OMEA) titled Being Mindful About Physical Well-Being in Elementary General Music. In their article, Dr. Gruenhagen and Mrs. McClure discuss how the general music program can be a powerful space for nurturing physical well-being. In this third article in a 4-part series on well-being in music, the authors focus on physical well-being and its impact on student learning and engagement, alongside the crucial roles played by teacher mindset, the classroom space, and student factors.
