BGSU Professor Aidan Plank and trumpeter Garrett Folger release Duo CD

On September 4th, 2025 Assistant Teaching Professor of Jazz/Bass Aidan Plank released Duo, a recording of improvised duets with trumpeter Garrett Folger. The recording features Plank on double bass and Folger on trumpet, piccolo trumpet, and flugelhorn. The duets were spontaneously improvised in September of 2024 at Suma Recording Studio in Painesville, OH. The music contained within the recording features the rich dialogue presented between two adept improvisers given no constraints, as well as exploring microtonality and extended techniques.

Plank and Folger will present a CD release concert at Negative Space Art Gallery in Cleveland, OH on September 28th at 7pm. Tickets are $20 but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
