"Green Game Day" is a collaboration between Campus Sustainability, BGSU Athletics, and Grounds Services to reduce waste at every home football game. To volunteer for this program, visit BGSUserves and select the game you would like to volunteer at. Each game has multiple shifts to choose from. Service credit is provided.

Green Game day is responsible for setting up and managing recycling containers within the tailgating sections of the home football game.

  • An average of 20 student volunteers staffed every game;
  • Recycling containers are set up throughout the stadium concourses, tailgate area, and suites of the stadium;
  • Volunteers distribute green recycling bags to tailgaters and collect them throughout the game
  • Multiple tons are collected each season, contributing to BGSU's sustainability goal of waste reduction and resource conservation.
