Tarishi is a third year PhD student with a background in journalism and audio-visual production. She has interned with several news organizations as a reporter/writer covering topics like politics, gender, and film. She has also directed three documentaries, been an assistant director for one, and has produced several radio shows. Her research interests lie in new/digital media, feminist activism online, gendered spaces, digital labors, and representations of gender on various platforms. Her publications include work on Whatsappified Diasporas and Transnational Circuits of Affect and Relationality, Finger on Your Lips: Indian Sanitary Napkin Advertisements and the Culture of Silence, among others.
