Browne Popular Culture Library commemorates birthday with open house

The Browne Popular Culture Library first opened in March 1969 as a home for things that were part of American life but couldn’t be found in an academic library, such as comic books, detective novels, postcards and much more.

In the 50 years since the pop culture library opened, a few things have changed. To mark the occasion, the library will host a combination open house/birthday party from 4-7 p.m. March 12. Guests can take tours of the fourth-floor collections, learn more about the library’s history, see some of the interesting collections, and have birthday cake.

Can’t make it to the party? Consider sending a birthday card to Browne Popular Culture Library, Fourth Floor, William T. Jerome Library, University Libraries, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio 43403. We’ll add all of them to our greeting card collection for future generations to appreciate.

Questions can be directed to Steve Ammidown at sammido@bgsu.edu.
