Tanja Vierrether

Tanja’s broad area of interest lies at the intersection of narrative persuasion, cognitive psychology, and marketing/consumer research. More specifically, she wants to gain insight into how psychological reactance and persuasion knowledge interact during different types of narrative processing, and how these variables mediate the effect of narrative engagement on attitude change. She is currently in the process of collecting data for her first set of experiments, which aims to investigate whether narrative persuasion is more successful in overcoming reactance once it has been activated, or in preventing its activation altogether.
