Kimberly’s research emphasis lies in interpersonal communication. More specifically, she is interested in identity negotiation and the behaviors associated with discrepancies between the different facets of our identities. Her secondary line of interest includes relational maintenance and the factors associated with these behaviors. In 2019, she was awarded both the School of Media & Communication Excellence Award and the School of Media & Communication Excellence in Teaching Award.
