Korean American Soprano Sujin Lee has toured extensively throughout Europe and the United States singing the works of Puccini and Verdi. As a member of the touring ensemble Teatro Lyrico d’Europa, Ms. Lee performed the roles of Liu in Turandot, Leonora in Il Trovatore and Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly. Her portrayal of Butterfly led the Boston Phoenix to describe her voice as “the aural equivalent of a room full of cherry blossoms.” For the Toledo Opera, Ms. Lee sang the role of Mimi in La Bohème and was a featured soloist for the company’s annual Gala production. Other roles include the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus and Donna Anna and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. Ms. Lee sang Cio-Cio-San with the Delaware Opera and Westfield Symphony Orchestra and the title role of Sour Angelica with the Dicapo Opera in New York. Her concert solo appearances include Mahler’s Eighth Symphony, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and Mass in C Minor, Strauss’ Four Last Songs, Poulenc’s Gloria and Brahms’ German Requiem. She has also sung with the Ocean City Pops in New Jersey on several occasions. Ms. Lee holds her Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music and an Artist Diploma from the world-renowned Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She currently serves as an adjunct associate professor of voice and opera at Bowling Green State University where she was the recipient of the Pro Musica Award for Exceptional Service to Students.
