Jane Schoonmaker Rodgers, Associate Professor Emerita of Voice; BM Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music; MM & DMA University of Michigan School of Music. At the College of Musical Arts at BGSU she teaches applied voice and graduate courses, and has directed operas, opera scenes, and revue shows, and spearheaded the Master’s specialization in Voice Science and Pedagogy. Previous faculty appointments include Grand Valley State University, University of Toledo, Adrian, Albion, and Spring Arbor Colleges, and University of Michigan. Performance, recording, and stage directing credits in the US and Europe include American Composers’ Alliance Festival of American Music (NYC), Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, Moravian Philharmonic (Czech Republic & Austria), National Polish Radio Symphony, Society for New Music, MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music, Ryman Auditiorium in Nashville, Toledo Symphony, Toledo Opera, Kerrytown Concert House (Ann Arbor), Pro Musica of Detroit, Camphill Village of Copake (NY), Toledo Museum of Art, International Symphony of Port Huron (MI) and Sarnia (Ontario), Ohio Light Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Cincinnati Opera, Toledo Opera, Michigan Lyric Opera, UMGASS, Ann Arbor Comic Opera Guild, and Syracuse’s Salt City Playhouse. She is also co-founder and General Director of the Ann Arbor Festival of Song, and a longtime member of the professional ensemble at the historic Mariners’ Church of Detroit.
