Calf Raises During Work (2023)       
"Calf Raises During Work" is my first foray into incorporating music technology within my compositions. This rhythmically and harmonically-dense work is inspired by elements of experimental rock and house music, and is unabashedly chaotic in nature. If evocative of anything at all, it reflects my headlong rush into a brand new era of my composition career.

Stromatolites (2023)
Stromatolites - Greek for 'layered rock' are formed by blue-green algae (cyanobacteria). They have played a pivotal role in Earth's geological and biological evolution. Most importantly, they are the reason why we're alive today! Around 3.4 million years ago, Cyanobacteria performed oxygenic photosynthesis to produce oxygen into the oceans and released into the air. With enough oxygen in the air, life was able to flourish and evolve.

"Did you just say womp womp?"

As the River Dries (2023)
As the River Dries was inspired by my morning commute to school. This piece is a musical display of my short lived view of the Maumee River as I pass it on 475 everyday, including the way that for a brief few days every autumn, the river dries up before swelling back to its normal depth. During this time can be seen many geese flying over, frogs croaking, and deer crossing the river.

Photographs (2023) - ii. Pink Sunrise
Each of this sonata cycle's four movements correspond to a photograph taken by the saxophonist Hannah Huddle. The first one I composed, this movement captures a sunrise which casts brilliant pink and blue hues across a somewhat lonely beach scene.
