The From Parana Duo was born from the reunion of two Brazilians who undergraduate together in music in Curitiba-Parana-Brazil and met again in Texas while Hudson Muller (Saxophone) was doing his master's degree in saxophone performance at Texas A&M University - Commerce in Commerce/Texas and Bruno Brandalise (Tuba) was doing his doctorate in tuba performance at Texas Tech University in Lubbock/Texas. The duo's aim is to explore the diverse timbres that the combination of these instruments can bring to the repertoire of both classical chamber music and arrangements of popular Brazilian music such as choro. The exploration of chamber music originally written for this formation is part of the repertoire, as is the search for new compositions especially written for the duo. Brazilian music is the main focus of the duo's research, but new works and music from all over the world are part of the repertoire.
