KidsX on Ice

WBGU-TV is hosting its second KidsX on Ice from 1:00-3:30 p.m. Saturday, August 18, with The Slater Family Ice Arena. The event is designed to be a fun-filled afternoon for children. It is free and open to the public.

Off-Ice activities include crafts, face painting and inflatables. WBGU-TV’s Ruby the Red-Eyed Tree Frog and US Figure Skating's Snowplow Sam will be making a special appearance. Snacks and concessions will be sold. There will also be free balloons.

In addition, the City of Bowling Green Fire and Police Departments and the BGSU Police Department will be on hand.

KidsX on Ice includes a special emphasis on ice skating with skating demonstrations by the Bowling Green Skate Club and skating lessons. Free 20-minute skating lessons will be offered for children ages three and older.  Pre-registration is required and space is limited.  Sport helmets are required for all lesson participants.  Skaters without helmets may not be able to participate.  Click here to register online. The event will conclude with a free open skate from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Skate rental is $3.

  • 2:00pm - 3:30pm    3-20 minute skating lessons (must pre-register and have sport helmet)
  • 3:30pm - 5:20pm    Public Skate
