Early Move-In
Personal early move-in requests are intended for any on-campus resident who needs to return before their official Move-in day. These requests should be made due to exceptional circumstances which prevent you from arriving on your scheduled date.
Our office will try to accommodate these requests; however, in some cases, you may need to be housed in temporary assignments if your room assignment is not ready.
Request & Approval Process
- The Early Move-In Request process will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14.
- Requests can be completed through your Housing Portal under "Manage My Housing" at the top on the homepage.

- We will begin reviewing requests the week of June 2 in the order they are received.
- An email to your BGSU account will be sent to notify you when the request has been approved.
- Charges will be billed to your student Bursar account after you move-in.
Early Move-In Fee
If you are approved for Early Move-In, you will be charged $150 for each day you request that is before Aug. 21 for new/transfer students and Aug. 24 for returning students. Please review the following carefully to calculate your total fee. If approved, charges will be placed on your student Bursar account after move-in.
New & Transfer Student Fees
The earliest Move-In date is Monday, Aug. 19.
Total Fee Based Off Requested Date:
- Aug. 19 | 2 Days Early | $300
- Aug. 20 | 1 Day Early | $150
Returning Student Fees
The earliest Move-In date is Monday, Aug. 19.
Total Fee Based Off Requested Date:
- Aug. 19 | 5 Days Early | $750
- Aug. 20 | 4 Days Early | $600
- Aug. 21 | 3 Days Early | $450
- Aug. 22 | 2 Days Early | $300
- Aug. 23 | 1 Day Early | $150
Siblings: If you are a returning student requesting to move-in on the same day as a sibling who is a new student, the fee will be waived. In the request form, there will be a place for you to include this information for review. If your request is approved, you will need to contact our office to schedule your move-in time.
