New Student Room Selection Availability

Throughout room selection week, we will be updating this page with bed availability in each residence hall to help you plan for when the system opens for you. 

Below, you will also find room selection reminders and resources that will help you understand more about the overall process.

Founders Hall

This building is only available to new students who are approved to live in the Honors Learning Community (HLC). Students already accepted into the Honors Learning Community will be able to select a room in Founders Hall as long as space is available.

If you are on the HLC waitlist, you must select a bed in a different building and if an opening becomes available, your room assignment will be adjusted at that time.

Overflow Housing

Overflow housing is a process that BGSU and many other universities open to ensure students who need a room on campus are able to be assigned if they are not able to select into a room during room selection in May.

It is important to note that students in overflow housing WILL receive a room assignment before they arrive on campus for the Fall semester.

Pick for me

Some students don’t want to select a room; they would rather our office pick their room. By selecting "Pick for me" during selection that means:

  • Our office will place you in an open space after selection. 
  • You will have access to sign-up for your move-in time. 

Any student who selects “Pick for me” will have a final room assignment before Aug. 8.
