Alumni

Department of Sociology graduate Heidi Lyons (Associate Professor of Sociology and Advisor for Oakland University) contributed her expertise to the new Macmillan Encyclopedia of Families, Marriages, and Intimate Relationships. The team of editors also included Dr. James J. Ponzetti, Jr., Maureen Blankemeyer, Sean M. Horan, and Ayo Shigeto.

In addition to Heidi's contributions, eleven BGSU alumni provided 14 entries to the encyclopedia on topics ranging from cohabitation, contraception, and family demography to juvenile delinquency, marriage rates, and sexual minorities.
