BGSU and Arbor Day Foundation plant trees

Bowling Green State University and the Arbor Day Foundation are coming together to make campus look a little greener.

On Saturday, Oct. 9, dozens of volunteers will plant 48 trees in the parking lot east of the Doyt Perry Stadium. As part of ongoing campus beautification efforts, this lot is in the process of being switched to all grass. The trees are a part of that effort.

Volunteers are expected to start checking in at 9:30 a.m. The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a brief presentation by representatives from BGSU, Arbor Day and Toyota, which partnered with the Foundation to recognize colleges and universities that practice sound campus forestry.

BGSU won a grant from Arbor Day to help finance the cost of the trees.
