BGSU Student Alumni Connection wins CASE awards

BOWLING GREEN, O. — For the first time in its history, Bowling Green State University’s Student Alumni Connection (SAC) took home not one, but three regional Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) awards, which were presented at a Feb. 27 ceremony.

The organization won CASE Affiliated Student Advancement Program (ASAP) awards for outstanding internal program, outstanding external program and outstanding organization.

SAC’s Beyond BG program was honored as the outstanding external program.  Designed to be a send-off celebration for graduating seniors, it has grown from a small dinner and award ceremony to a campus-wide celebration. SAC’s annual membership retreat was recognized as the outstanding internal program.

The organization’s applications will now be submitted for consideration in the National CASE ASAP awards, which will be presented in August at the National Networking Convention.

“It’s great for SAC to get recognition for the work that they do here on campus and at a national level about the importance of student alumni associations,” said Kelli Daniels, assistant director of alumni affairs.

Daniels said SAC serves as a bridge between current students and BGSU alumni.  Students are able to work on professional development, leadership and service in their work with te Alumni Association and the larger alumni base.

The CASE ASAP awards recognize and celebrate organizations, students and advisers for excellence in the student advancement profession.
