Data Compass Crosswalk

Below is the Data Compass crosswalk organized by year and indicates the marriage and divorce measures available in each given year. An "X" indicates the measure has been archived. Because these data have been archived over a period of more than ten years, and under different funding mechanisms, the data are available in different locations. The provided "data link" will take users to the web-location where the associated data is archived.

All archived data include the relevant FIPS (Federal Information Processing Series) Codes. These codes ensure uniform identification of geographic entities through all federal agencies. The state FIPS Code is a two-digit number and the county FIPS Code is a three-digit number. Combinging the two-digit state code with the three-digit county code into a new five-digit code allows users to uniquely identify all counties within the U.S. For example, "39173" is the FIPS Code for Wood County, Ohio. The "39" represents Ohio, and the "173" represents Wood County. Also included is the county name, state postal abbreivation, and associated data notes. Data files are wide, organized by county (e.g., each county has it's own row of data).
