Logistics Center for Moving Services/Surplus Property
Bowling Green State University’s Logistics Center provides a myriad of services including moving, surplus property management, bed lofting and delofting, and various other event logistical needs.
Surplus equipment and furniture are items that are no longer of use to the original owners. It is important that all possibilities of disposal be explored before sending anything to the landfill. Surplus accomplishes this by focusing on the following methods:
Re-Purpose
When possible, equipment and furniture items are repurposed for other University departments, in lieu of purchasing new items. To schedule a time to visit the warehouse to view surplus items, please click Surplus Inventory Request.
Equipment and furniture that are not repurposed get sold on Govdeals.com.
Re-Use
Additionally, unused office supplies can be distributed through various outlets. One such effort is the “Once Upon a Desk” initiative. This program provides an opportunity to donate unused office supplies or items to the BGSU ReStore. Learn more about Re-Use Initiatives.
Recycle
When items are not in working condition or are unable to be sold, the University recycles all possible components including electronics, batteries, paper/cardboard and metal.
For more information about BGSU’s recycling initiatives, and a list of drop off locations, please visit the BGSU Office of Campus Sustainability.
