Organizing a Food Drive

Are you interested in organizing a food drive? We are here to help support you in any way we can!

Food and Supply Drives are important for the continued success of the Falcon Food Pantry, and they are a great way for organizations and individuals to get. Here’s how you can run your own drive to help your campus community:

  1. Pick a date and a drop off location. Do you want to have one day for a big donation push or a flexible range to accommodate as many donors as possible? Will this drive be attached to another event? Where will you collect your donations? These are important first steps!
  2. Send us an email with your organization name and information! We can let you know any specific items we may need, and answer any questions.
  3. Get prepared! Make sure you have a place to collect all your items - like a box or container - and a way to transport them.
  4. Organize volunteers! Working together not only grows your organization’s bonds, but it will also lighten the workload. Make teams to advertise your drive, groups to go collect, and a transport team once your drive is complete.
  5. Advertise! Using social media, flyers, and word of mouth, get the word out about your drive! Make sure you tag the Pantry in your posts, so we can share your work too.
  6. Collect! Collect! Collect!
  7. Donate items! Bring your collected items from the drive into the Pantry. We accept donations whenever we are open.
