Brief Biography
Dr. Jared S. Rose has produced over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and books, state-wide HIV and STI education curricula, and public-media outlets. He has provided over 180 conference presentations and educational trainings at regional, state, national, and international arenas; been the invited keynote speaker 8 times; and has given more than 40 educational television and radio broadcasts.

In addition to his work as an author and presenter, Dr. Rose continues to provide clinical mental health services in private practice and has an extensive history in service to his community and the counseling profession. Including as the Founder and Faculty Advisor for PRISM; extensive history for service to Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) including the Beta Gamma Chapter Faculty Advisor for 10 years; and elected board member for 15 years for the Lucas County Human Trafficking Coalition (LCHTC). Dr. Rose has provided service leadership in a variety of roles, including past-president (2017-2019) for the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE, formerly ALGBTIC), and various roles for the Ohio Counseling Association (OCA), the American Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Counselor Education & Supervision (ACES), and Chi Sigma Iota (CSI).

Dr. Rose’s humbling honors have included the BGSU LGBTQ+ Excellence Faculty Award (2022); the Community Cares Award from the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Institute (2022); the Ned Farley Service Award (2018) and Presidential Service Award (2020) from the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling (ALGBTIC); the Leadership & Professional Advocacy Hero Award from Chi Sigma Iota (2021); Professional Leadership Award from the Ohio Counseling Association (2017); Social Justice Leader Award from the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Institute (2017); and various student-nominated awards and recognitions from Bowling Green State University.
